USING ICC PROFILES
Proper use of ICC profiles can save a lot of time and ensure accurate, consistent output. Please follow this guide exactly as it is written. Most problems we hear from customers are directly related to not following these instructions. It has been developed after years of helping our customers. The most common issues we hear along with solutions have been included in our FAQ.
Step 1. Download and Install .icc Profile
Go to the profile downloads page and navigate to your printer and profile by clicking on the brand and model of printer. To download the profile, simply click on the name of the paper. Save the file to your desktop.
Please note Mac users may need to hold the 'option' key when clicking to prevent the file from opening as a text file. Windows users may need to right-click and select 'Save File As'.
After downloading the file to your desktop, copy the file to your system's profile folder. Here are the default folders for each operating system:
- Mac OS X \library\colorsync\profiles
- Mac OS 9 system folder\colorsync\profiles
- Windows 98 & Me windows\system\color
- Windows Vista, XP, 7, 8, 10 'right-click' on the saved .icc file and select 'install profile'. The profile will be copied to the appropriate folder on your computer. If you prefer to install the profile manually, move it to: windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
